Monstera

The Monstera is an evergreen plant from the tropical rainforest. In young specimens the leaves are heart-shaped. When they become older the foliage becomes fenestrated.

In Europe the plant is commonly kept as an indoor plant. The flowers are typical for the Araceae, but few people have seen them. The fruit is edible, the flavor is similar to pineapple and banana.
